Local Prgrams
Each week at the WRGY studio we host members of the Rangeley community as they unleash their creativity and love for radio. Each show has its own unique theme (or lack thereof) and is available only for WRGY listeners. If you are interested in hosting your own show you can contact Station Manager, Iris Ramirez at iris@wrgy.org. Listed below are several locally produced shows that take place regularly at the station.

The Straub Power Hour - Tim Straub
Tuesdays at 3pm, repeated Sundays at 6pm
The Straub Power Hour brings a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and a whole lot of something else. Tim’s one-hour program is like a one-hour lesson plan. Clearly he misses his teaching gig because he latches onto a topic and proceeds to unravel it in the hopes the audience might accidentally learn a thing or two along the way. There’s music and movie clips and poetry and stories and special guests and comedy all delivered with Tim’s palatable charm. Whether you catch a two-minute snippet driving from the IGA to the post office, or sit and listen to an entire hour, you’ll see there are two reasons why Tim doesn’t get paid…and one of these reasons is that he loves putting on a show. The other reason is yours to guess.
Mark’s Eclectic Hour - Mark Lathrop
Fridays at 11am
Mark’s Eclectic Hour is whatever Mark feels like playing that week. He doesn’t believe in genres so anything goes. Some shows are themed but most encompass everything from R&B, doo-wop, country, rockabilly, folk, psychedelic rock… well, you get the idea!

Jazz Brunch - Dean Gray
Sundays at 11am
If you're a frequent WRGY listener, you may know Dean as the announcer for the Townhouse Meal Site menus. But every Sunday Dean is cooking up some of his Jazz favorites. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee, and kick up your heels to songs by artists like Aretha Franklin and Benny Goodman.
Record Highs - Randy Buckley
Wednesdays at 1pm
The idea behind the "Record Highs" hour is to showcase underappreciated music. I've enjoyed the hobby of record collecting for over three decades and relish sharing these fruits with the people of Rangeley (and beyond).
Many times I'll pair a lesser known artist back to back with a more popular artist in the same genre. My hope is that the listener will enjoy the show and perhaps discover something new each time they tune in.

Pine Tree Progressive - Russ Murley
Fridays at 4pm
Join Russ Murley Friday afternoons at 4 pm for “Pine Tree Prog”. Russ will take you on a journey around the world with music from different countries and a sampling of the multiple sub-genres of progressive rock. From classics from bands you know like Pink Floyd and Rush to obscure bands from different corners of the globe, Russ knows prog rock and loves to share his knowledge of the talented artists that produce this engaging flavor of rock music!
